Accepted as a true record

Matters arising

  • Work began on the Nenthead Triangle, January 29th 2007.
  • NPHT. No response re reports to Ward Meeting.
  • A.O.B. Nominations for meeting secretary for 29.01.07. Anne Lanham volunteered to minute this meeting.
  • The chairman noted that work had begun today on the Nenthead Triangle.
  • Complaints that rubbish is still being dumped in the original area.
  • Annual Ward Meeting: March 26th 2007. Dick Phillips listed the eight organisations that are expected to attend to make a report: Over 60s, Meals on Wheels, NPHT, W.I., Village Hall, Haggs Committee, School and Village Shop. It was suggested that posters to publicise the event have more information to make them more meaningful to new arrivals.
  • Still no date for the shop ‘handover’. The manager is doing training and people could be asked for their pledges. It is regretted that no one representing the shop was at the meeting.

Agenda for Annual General Meeting

  • Election of Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary
  • Reports from the 8 organisations as listed above
  • Forthcoming district and parish elections, (candidates needed).

Posters are needed to publicise the meeting and it was agreed that approx 10 are needed and will be posted at key sites: notice boards in the Miners Public House, the Post Office, the school, Over 60s, Haggs, the surgery. Agendas to be circulated through letterboxes in Nenthead and Overwater (coordinated by D. Herring with the support of Dick Phillips).

Other matters of interest

There is still a vacancy on the Parish Council for Nenthead and will be on the agenda at the next Parish Council meeting to be held 05.02.07. If enough candidates are not found Eden District Council can reduce the number of seats.

Meeting closed: 8.10pm.

Formal thanks given to Anne Latham for supporting the meeting.
